How much Equity does Florida homeowners have compared to the national average?

by Josh Bohling

In comparison, other Florida metropolitan areas reported varying percentages of equity-rich homes during the same period:

  • North Port-Sarasota-Bradenton: 52%
  • Orlando-Kissimmee: 48.4%
  • Tampa-St. Petersburg: 49%
  • Jacksonville: 43.9%

Miami-Dade County led with the highest percentage of equity-rich homes at 64.4%.

These statistics indicate that the local Cape Coral-Fort Myers area is performing well in terms of homeowner equity, surpassing the national average and closely aligning with other markets in Florida.

This does not indicate short sales or foreclosures won't happen but is more indicitative of less potential vs the national market at this time.
